(Before I start, I just wanted to say I feel like such an organised queen bc this is up before the 1st, woo woo to me).
I’m going to start this blog post with the typical cliché line that everyone says, I can’t believe how quick time is going! Exam season is creeping up on me and it’s terrifying me, gah. I haven’t done a monthly favourite post in AGES, I don’t think I’ll ever be the person who does a regular monthly favourites just because the things I love very rarely change. However, it’s been a heck of a long time since my last favourites post and I feel like I have a collection of things that I’ve loved that I can waffle to you about.
April was a blur of a month full of revision and high stress levels, amongst the many stressful days these have remained my favourite! I’ve tried to link as many things as I could to help you all out!
Kiehls Lip Balm in Cranberry
After my EOS lip balm sucked all the moisture from my lips and left me feeling like I’ve been in a desert for 560 days, you can say I was in desperate need of a nourishing lip balm that would actually work. My mum and myself were invited to Selfridges for complimentary facials with Kiehls, can I just say that I’m not a big faical person but these were honestly heavenly, we had such good fun and were quickly persuaded to buy a few products from their range! At the till, I was drawn in by the jar full lip balms and decided to pick one up because at this point I was willng to try anything. I picked up the cranberry flavour and I have to say I’m not a fan of fragrant skincare products, this lip balm however, smells like a bloomin’ dreaaaaaam. In terms of bringing back moisture into my lips, this did the trick. Honestly, I literally cannot live without it anymore, it’s so nourishing and it really saved my lips.
Liz Earle Toner
I go through phases with my exfoliators and tonics, but the only thing that stays the same in my skincare routine is my Cleanse and Polish. When I was repurchasing my cleanser from QVC, they had an offer on for the exfoliator, the tonic and the cleanser so I decided to go for it. I apply this onto a cotton pad and pat it onto my skin, I’ve completely fallen back in love with it, it’s SO refreshing and in combination with my cleanser it’s helped to keep my skin clear and glowy.
Maybelline Lash Sensational
I have a thing for mascara, always have always will. It’s my favourite make up product by far and I really enjoy using mascara’s and trying out new ones. I know I’m super late on the bandwagon with this one, but seriously, all the hype is actually worth it. It’s SO good and used in conjunction with my eyelash curlers, it leaves me with amazing long eyelashes.
Black on Black – Nike Roshe’s
I bought these trainers at the beginning of the year and honestly I wasn’t sure if I would get a wear out of them much, it was more of an impulsive buy if I’m honest. But they are literally the only shoes I’ve been reaching for throughout the past month, they are super comfy, the only shoes I’m comfortable driving in and with them being black on black they go with everything. Honestly, I’ve been wearing them the whole of this month, best buy ever!
Oh, new bedding! I’ve finally got my hands on a new mattress, (thanks mama) and with that I got some new bedding from Ikea too! It’s white with dark pink damask pattern all over it, I want to start incorporating pink-tones into my bedroom and I thought this would be a perfect start, I love it. Plus they were only £10!!
Other bedding on my wishlist:
I know I’ve been promising you a full review on this book and I will have it up soon, it’s on my list of posts to write! I was going through a phase of a ‘bloggers block’ and had 0 ideas for posts and all of a sudden I have so many I can’t even fit the time to write them all out, but it’s on my list and I will definitely get round to doing it soon inshallah. I don’t want to say too much, but this book is just brilliant, it’s all about self-reflection and enlightenment, it helps to open your eyes to why things happen in certain ways and helps you have a new perspective on life when things aren’t looking so great. You can honestly relate to every part of the book in some way or another and I’ve been loving it.
Even though, I’ve been trying to cut out on the sugary drinks, we saw j20’s were on offer in Tesco and I instantly had a rush of memories of how much I used to love these drinks, so I had to pick two pakcets of these up! This month I’ve loved the apple and raspberry and the orange and passion fruit mm!
That’s it for my monthly favourites, it wasn’t much but these are the few things I’ve been loving this month! I can’t wait to share some more favourite posts with you soon!
What are some of your favourites this month?
