In Ramadan it’s a big challenge to maintain healthy eating, after fasting for 16 hours, at iftar time its so easy to over-eat with lots of snacks etc but I’ve been trying to consciously be aware of what I’m eating.
I’ve seen quite a lot of green smoothie mixtures online and all over Instagram and I thought it would be a good idea to have these for sehri time. I read up on a lot of blogs about meal-prepping for them and before Ramadan started I went to Tesco and bulk bought a lot of ingredients to prep for the smoothies for the following mornings that week.
At sehri time I’m sure we can all imagine we are all like zombies and too tired to move, let alone eat, so to have my smoothie already blended in the fridge was a literal life-saver.
I pre-made smoothie mix’s into these ziplock bags and put them in the freezer, I changed up the fruit in each bag to add a variety for myself. The main ingredient was obviously the greens which can be spinach or kale and chia seeds! Chia seeds are 100% a must in Ramadan because they help to make you feel full and reduce your appetite!
I’ve shared a few pics below:
