I am currently in Thailand sitting on the soft sand looking out into the turquoise sea while sipping my coconut water 🙂 … writing this travel make up edit for you!
Here’s a snap of the coconut water in case you were interested …
Well let’s get to it … Above is an overall picture of what I have packed with me, I tend to go for the easiest products to apply … As it’s either too hot and/or I would rather be outside than staying in doors any longer!
For a base I have been gravitating towards my Mac face and body in shade C3 and the Laura Mercier powder (which keeps me shine free for so long)
For cheeks I try to keep it simple with bronzers, highlighters and cream blushers. The Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer is a must have! It blends beautifully and looks so natural along with my new Filmstar Bronze and Glow from Charlotte Tilbury – which I personally don’t think it needs much more of a description. Highlighters I have been loving a few at the moment the infamous Mac Soft and Gentle, the Filmstar glow part of the Bronze and Glow and also this random little No7 highlighter which I think came in a gift set at Christmas a few years ago and seems to stay pretty close to my favourites!
For blushers it’s (as always) my Tory Burch pink cream blush which I use near enough everyday! And my Mac in Dollymix which looks quiet loud but doesn’t come off like that at all! Just love this combination!
For eyes I have recently purchased my Z-palette with a mix of Mac and Makeup Geek eyeshadows, they are all quite warm toned colours and I don’t know how that happened but they are so versatile for a pop of colour just underneath the eye or on top of the lid for a more deeper look. Along with my trusty paint pots in Soft Ocre and Painterly. (I might do a more in depth review on my shadows soon)
Mascaras I have packed two; Maybelline collasal volume express and Maybelline great lash I love them both but I will be honest I have only been wearing these in the evenings and only some evenings I haven’t always had the patience to coat them on knowing I will have to take it off soon after! Oh along with my Primark eyelash curlers, the Eyeko brow gel and Mac brow pencil in Stud.
Now the fun part – Lips! … I wasn’t meant to pack as much as I did I think I got slightly carried away (which happens quite alot). My thought process behind picking the lipsticks was that I would be easily change my look by popping on some colour which is easy to apply and not hard to maintain. Below are some snaps of the colours I threw into my make up bag.
I guess I didn’t realise until these photos were taken that they all look quite similar …oops but I do have a tendency to purchase similar colours. My favourite is the pinky brown colour it’s my go to lip colour and I just love it!
I had also packed three lip glosses, I have a tendency to buy them and not really wear them, so I thought if I brought them to Thailand it might push me to wear them a bit more … (unfortunately you might have caught me out once for wearing the Rimmel gloss in this whole trip)
The photos are all taken in our hotel room in Thailand! I couldn’t resist the good backgrounds! I think you might be able to tell that from my next few posts too :-)!
Stay tuned for my next post on My Muslim Thail/Malay Adventure!
